Nostradamus foretold COVID-19 nearly 500 years ago?
Michele de Nostredame, or Nostradamus – the 16th-century physician wrote many supposed visions of the future in his 1555 book Les Propheties – a collection of nearly 1,000 prophetic and poetic quatrains. Nostradamus’ predictions are in the form of short, four-lined poems known as Quatrains. The predictions are riddled and not easy to interpret.
Nostradamus writings are very vague in many of the predictions; but even after nearly five centuries his predictions still intrigue us because of what he did get right.
Great Fire of London in 1666:
“The blood of the just will be demanded of London burnt by fire in three times twenty plus six”.
and the rise of Adolf Hitler (though Nostradamus referred to him as “Hister.”) to power in 1933 are among them.
It is also agreed upon that somehow Nostradamus knew World War I coming to the world and the flu epidemic that killed over 50 million people. Read this poem:
“The dreadful war which prepared in the West, the following year the pestilence will come, so very horrible that young, nor old, nor animal (will survive).”
He also wrote about something that bears a striking resemblance to 9/11.
“The sky will burn at forty-five degrees; fire approaches the great New City. Immediately a huge scattered flame leaps up.”
It is now in discussion among scholars whether in the year 1555 Nostradamus could see Corona coming to the world.
Also, in Century 2, Quatrain 19, Nostradamus wrote of plague and famine. The passage reads:
“Newcomers, place built without defense, “Place occupied then uninhabitable: Meadows, houses, fields, towns to take at pleasure, “Famine, plague, war, extensive land arable.”
In Les Prophéties, there are references “The great plague of the maritime city,” and the one that says “And diverse plagues will be upon mankind.” Although it is not easy to understand and relate with Corona, however, the fact is that somehow things always happens in a way he has written it in specific terms which later came true.
The Prophecies of Nostradamus by Erika Cheetham is a complete translation of the original text, first published in 1973. In this there is a reference to “plague, lightning and hail at the end of March,” and, more importantly, this:
In the feeble lists, great calamity through America and Lombardy. The fire in the ship, plague and captivity; Mercury in Sagittarius, Saturn warning.
Assuming “the feeble lists” refer to the sick and the dead, America and Italy (Lombardy is a region in the north of the Italy) the top three most infected countries so far, along with Spain. Mercury entered Sagittarius in December 2019, which is when the first cases of Corona Virus occurred, and Saturn moved into Aquarius on March 21, right as New York City was going into lockdown. The ship in the prediction may be the Grand Princess, which docked in Oakland on March 9 with 21 confirmed Corona Virus cases on board.
All of which suggests that Nostradamus did see this coming after all.
It wouldn’t be the first time. Corona is nothing as compared to those coming as per Nostradamus. Nostradamus has also predicted Zombie Apocalypse which you may have seen only in the movies till date. Read this:
“The year of the great seventh number accomplished, it will appear at the time of the games of slaughter, not far from the age of the great millennium, when the dead will come out of their graves.”
Nostradamus definitely saw the future in his own way and warned us in a mysterious way.
